Trevor George approached us to help them reposition their entertainment company nationwide with both a website and ongoing Adwords and SEO support. They already had a fantastic reputation in the South West for providing everything from wedding singers to circus performers, comedians and musicians, to their established audience of holiday parks, cruise ships, hotels and conferences.
Challenge
They had been bought by large London entertainment giants Sternberg Clarke, and now wanted to take the Trevor George array of acts UK-wide, but also to tap into the domestic market of private parties, weddings and corporate events. We designed a new site, starting with an overhaul of the company logo. The main home page was designed to inspire and delight the viewer and give them a sense of excitement about the act that they might soon book.
The search facility we designed on the home page allows the user to filter down what they are looking for – act type and location. Each act, whether a jazz singer or a close hand magician, has their own dedicated act page with photos, video and audio snippets. All the acts are filterable by region or act type, with featured acts appearing within each category. We had to plan this build quite carefully to allow for optimisation on all the act pages, so as not to slow down load speed, and ensure that the navigational architecture within the site wasn’t confusing to the customer. We also designed landing pages for the regions that they cover, North West for example, so it could be used for dedicated marketing campaigns within that locale. There is an colourful Instagram feed into the site and they maintain a blog to network and touch base with Google.
There are also some really fun elements to the site, such as the Our History page that shows their timeline through scrolling images, and their Showcase page that gives a glimpse into the cutting edge entertainment they can offer.
Solution
Our client invested in really great copywriting for all the pages on their site and created the brilliant video that launches on the home page. Being entertainers they knew what would capture the audience’s attention online. They also took our advice on the functional aspects of the site and compromised on elements that wouldn’t work so well on mobile devices. The only problem now, is which act to choose…
Adwords & Digital Marketing
We continue to support Trevor George in specific Google Adword campaigns. We agree with our client the seasonal campaign, for example ‘Christmas Party’, and establish the keywords and budget. We then manually bid on Adwords on their behalf and monitor and amend the bidding as we go. We also support them with SEO on blog posts and report back on tasks and progress each month. We work in a very bespoke way with clients, giving more hours over to their digital marketing during busy sales seasons and then reducing the hours when they have capacity in-house again.
