The Amber Foundation

The Amber Foundation is a company that works with young people (aged 16-30) facing complex problems to transform their lives by helping them move away from homelessness, out of unemployment and work towards better, brighter and healthier futures.

The Goal

Amber Foundation came to us with the request to completely rebuild their website, focusing on rebranding, restructuring and redesigning. One of the main issues with their old site was that it had a lot of duplicate content scattered around the site, it was also difficult to navigate and very outdated, so we ensured to resolve these issues on the new site.

The Process

There were many factors included in this process, including the rebranding decisions, and a full redesign as well as the actual website build and launch. We worked closely with the client, taking on board their input in meetings we had arranged fortnightly with a dedicated project manager.

What Did We Do?

We began this project by having an initial meeting with the client to really understand their requirements and what they wanted the new website to look like, and the customer journey they wanted to take. After this initial meeting, we decided to separate the website into two different customer journeys, one for people seeking help and one for sponsors and donations. By separating these two customer journeys, Amber Foundation would be able to maximise on fundraising but also look more appealing to new users as the site is a lot easier to navigate and more visual with people’s stories on the home page.

Digital Marketing

As well as the website redesign and rebuild, we had the SEO of the website in mind throughout the entire process. It was important to keep this in mind to ensure that their existing rankings were maintained when moving the content over. This included looking at elements like meta titles, meta descriptions, H1 tags, image alt tags, URL structure and keyword-rich content.

Launch Day

In order for us to launch the site smoothly and without interfering with the client’s emails, we had to coordinate with their IT support team and existing web hosts to ensure a successful launch for the site with no downtime.

Despite facing some challenges along the way, the launch of their new site was successful, and the client is very happy with the new site. They were involved in the whole process with regular updates and encouraged to share their opinions and thoughts, so they got the best results.
