Brief
This client had an existing website with us, hosting and marketing, and were ready for a refresh. Their website was years old, and was quite text-heavy. They wanted to modernise the site, bring it in line with the latest online technology and code, and ensure their products were represented as well as possible. The sheds and garden offices this company create as very visually appealing, and they wanted the website to really show off this aspect of their work.
Process
First of all we went through meetings for the wireframe and design of the site. The wireframe decided the layout and the design decided the look and style. When the client was happy we started the build.
We chose to build this website in WordPress – a sophisticated but easy to use system which millions of users and a very accessible code and developer community. For Sheds Direct WordPress offered a bespoke design, but an easy to access admin area allowing them to update their website and add case studies and new services whenever they needed to.
We added in clear Call To Action points across the website, and ensured contact information was very clear within the top banner. This client gets most contact via phone call, so this was very important, and we ensured the contact forms were easy to use in the meantime. The development team worked hard to ensure the website was fully responsive, and that the pages loaded fast. Fast page load times matter not only for users, but also for Google, as they assist with SEO rankings and also high Quality Scores in Google Ads.
Finally the website has clear and very visually impactful Gallery and Services pages, really showcasing the beautiful buildings they construct.
On launch day we ensured their Google Ads were paused, and we moved all their Google Ads conversions and call tracking over to the new website, plus ensuring that all SEO ranking work was maintained and their Google rankings were kept safe during the site changes. We monitored their rankings for weeks afterwards in close detail, to ensure Google was indexing the new pages and was happy with all the changes.
The client was thrilled with the website design and build, and the digital marketing benefited well from the new site features.
