Meet Liberty, Our Newest Digital Marketing Executive!

Liberty

Heya, my name is Liberty, and I am honoured to say I have joined the Daneswood team as a full-time Digital Marketing Executive.

A little bit about me, I am originally from a small village (in the middle of the countryside) just outside the city of Worcester. I have recently moved down to Exeter for the incredible balance of city life and being a stone’s throw from the beach. I am midway through my university degree; I began studying Events Management at Falmouth University but have now moved over to a course much better suited to me, a part time Digital Marketing and Business course. I am currently on a break from studying but will complete my degree by June 2025.

I have 4 years of previous marketing experience, especially within the Social Media world. I have worked with lots of hospitality venues to increase their social media presence and reputation. Alongside the hospitality industry, I also have experience working in the automotive, sporting and luxury real estate industries; these accounts varied from small to large and covered a wide range of topics. I am looking forward to utilising my previous skills in life at an agency.

Outside of work, I love being in the countryside and taking my doggo on walks; she is a very excitable cockapoo who loves digging holes, chasing squirrels and getting very muddy. Her all time favourite place in the world is the beach, which is now much easier to get to than from Worcester!

Alongside dogs, the countryside and the beach, I love travelling; over the last year, I have done several day trips around Europe with friends. This included arriving at Stansted airport at 3am for a 5am flight to run around Dublin for the day seeing all the sites, and then flying back at 10pm the same day. Safe to say we loved it, but we were knackered! Since that trip, we have visited Edinburgh and Paris, and have many more in the lineup.

I am very excited to see how I grow and develop with Daneswood and cannot wait to get stuck in and start meeting and working with all our clients and helping them develop their marketing strategy even further!

Starting a new job is very exciting and nerve-wracking; I could not help but feel a mix of apprehension and excitement. Little did I know, I had nothing to be worried about, I was greeted with friendly faces and a wonderful plan for the week. Orientation sessions, introductions, and a whirlwind tour of the office left me amazed, excited and a little overwhelmed. Previously I had worked full-time from home with the occasional site visit, so an office dynamic was very different from what I was used too. Adjusting to a new work environment includes a mixture of understanding the company’s culture and my role and learning how coworkers like their tea; this is a vital element of settling in!

One of the most pleasing aspects of my first week was the willingness of my colleagues to help and support me, from explaining new systems to inviting me to lunch; their gestures certainly made my first week enjoyable.

Looking back over my first week, it was full of opportunities. I have learnt a lot about the structure and organisation of Daneswood. Throughout the week, I have dived straight in and worked on some projects; this included creating a newsletter advertising upcoming events for a company and writing unique content for a company needing quality for their food-related blog to boost rankings. Whilst having a whistle stop tour of SEO and understanding the areas we focus on and develop. I have been lucky enough to sit in on several meetings as well, including our department and team meetings. My aim for next week’s meeting is to be able to contribute valuable information and understand everything that is happening.

I am very thankful to the wonderful team I have joined and how lovely they have been to welcome me. Every day I plan to learn, explore and continue writing the story of this exciting new chapter.
