Due to the immense growth in the need for SEO, Adwords and blogging, we have taken on a Digital Marketing Apprentice this month in the form of Luke Davidson!

Luke D will be joining our Head of Digital, Luke Stone, in delivering all the digital marketing we currently undertake on behalf of our clients. Although Luke is aged only 16, and the youngest member of our team, he came to us with an already thriving YouTube channel and being born in a digital age, he was full of enthusiasm. His enquiring mind was plain to see.

“King’s was a really good school for me, quite big and friendly, but I’m glad I’ve taken up the Digital Marketing course at Exeter College now, with a working apprenticeship at Daneswood too. I am in college only one day a week and the rest of the week I am office based. I have to keep on top of the coursework but I look forward to getting to know the clients a bit more.”

Luke first came to Daneswood for a week’s work experience while at The King’s School North, Ottery St Mary.

“I loved your website and it looked like you had a lot to offer. I was only here a week but I started doing HTML and looking at WordPress which was great. My dad works in SEO and does some web designing, so I’ve taken inspiration from him. My interest began when I started looking at the stats on my YouTube videos and how many people were looking. How did I get to 400 views and how could I get even more? I loved learning everything there is to know about keywords and how I could grow my following.”

Within two weeks of being at Daneswood Luke has already passed his Google Adwords Fundamentals course.

“I’d like to get the best experience I can within digital marketing and create an independent campaign for a client. Working here alongside my course will help me become mentally more prepared for it. I’d especially like to be a professional WordPress blog writer and Adwords specialist manager.”

Here are Luke’s top 5 things he’s learnt in the past few weeks:

  1. Creating a basic email campaign using MailChimp
  2. The concepts of online advertising
  3. How to edit a website in WordPress
  4. Writing a formal email to a client
  5. How to breakdown keywords into Ad groups in a campaign
