Jewellery e-shop with  product filtering and zoomable images

Doble Jewellers has been a client of Daneswood for 7 years and they are a large and much respected family in Devon with 6 retail outlets and an online shop. As a family run jewellery business, the younger generation of the family now wanted to invest more in their digital side, and approached us to bring the Doble brand up-to-date.  In 2016 we overhauled their logo and upgraded their CS-Cart ecommerce platform to the latest version, that was fully mobile responsive. We also undertook a major design overhaul of their online shop, focusing on large zoomable images, wish list, gift voucher codes, vintage watches and jewellery and jewellery repair.

Doble recognised that a lot of their clients will now view and browse their collections online, before they come into the shop to try jewellery and watches on. It was very important to them that the latest vintage pieces they got in, went up online as soon as possible, with each product optimised for Google searches and with large zoomable images to show off every detail and angle. We established some new categories, for easy filtering of products, so clients looking for just ‘engagement rings’, could pull the collection up quickly and then filter by price, metal, new or vintage. There is a search function that allows you to look search for ‘antique rolex’ for example, and then the watches that match that filter are displayed quickly.


Doble also added value to the user experience, by not just including product on the site, but also information pages on caring and cleaning your jewellery, hallmarks and selling gold. This great content talks not only to their customer, but also to the search engines.  We also completed a full search engine optimisation of the new site so they can carry over their existing Google authority and maintain their rankings. The younger members of the Doble family are now carrying on the digital upgrade by posting regularly on social media and engaging with their younger audience for brands such as Chamilia. They are all set to carry on a very successful family business long into the future.
