Heist tights are new on the block.

They have already created quite a buzz and like all good products I found out about them by a friend saying ‘have you heard about Heist tights, they are amazing’. They only sell the tights online and not through any other retailer, so their online shop and eCommerce offering had to be the best it possibly could be. And it is.

It’s only July but already this is my online shop of the year. I think it is darn near perfect -from a female customer’s perspective. And a female customer is their target audience.Firstly it looks beautiful. Their photography budget was well spent. The bold home page image of the dancer in tights makes everyone think ‘is she actually wearing tights’ and then you study the picture and you’re hooked. We often tell customers that when it comes to text, less is more. The home page has less than 100 words from top to bottom. The text and images do the talking for you. The design is gorgeous as they have used diagonal stripes in the layout to subtly hide nudity within the picture. The only movement on the home page is strong and impressive changing testimonials, which help register trust. They have included logos of top publications such as Vogue and The Times to reinforce quality.

Most importantly they have thought long and hard about the digital marketing. The ‘Heist Celebrates’ section features icons of female strength and femininity which links through to their Instagram and changes regularly. Their pop-up which asks you to sign up to emails in exchange for a discount, gives you a great reason to sign up – they will email you bi-monthly stories of Heist celebrating strong iconic women. That’s got nothing to do with tights, but everything to do with rich and interesting content that the customer would enjoy reading. It reinforces their brand each month. It talks direct to the woman. It is a great sales driver. Even the favicon of a smiley handbag is thought through. The information pages within the site (outside of the shop) give a clear and understandable history of the product, company and frequently asked questions.

It’s 20 degrees outside and I won’t be wearing tights now until at least October, but last night I bought a pair of tights after visiting the site. Now that is eCommerce in a nutshell. Link: https://www.heist-studios.com
